Collaboration with Tired Hands Brewing Company
So what is it? Well it’s a conceptual beer inspired by the king of street food. The base recipe is an IPA with a significant portion of corn in the form of flaked maize and taco shells. It is spiced with cumin, corriander, black pepper, sea salt, pasilla chiles, cilantro and the zest and juice of 140 limes. For hops we chose Citra and New Zealand Motueka to complement the floral, spicy, citrusy aspects of the beer.

The world's greatest street food, tacos served in a can! Taco Hands pours a murky, dull hay yellow with a loose head that quickly fades leaving very little lacing. The smell is carries a hoppiness that's fresh and fruity with a grainy cornmeal of tortilla chips and a lime citrus. The taste is bold and juicy with citrus and tropical, more notable are the spices of cumin and coriander that this IPA a "taco likeness" with a hint of cilantro and lime.

Pours a clear gold. Coriander dominates the aroma and flavor, along with hints of comino. While I wouldn't say there's a lot of hype around this beer I didn't feel like it lived up to the novelty factor either.

I was a little hesitant to this one going in, I mean taco inspired beer just sounds weird. I was so wrong, this beer is a top 5 new IPA for 2015 for me. Juicy, lightly spiced with nice aromatics killing a growler of this was a treat!

Pint at TRB.
A: Served a cloudy orange juice color with a thin, oily, off-white head that faded to a bubbly collar. A few greasy spots of lace were left down the glass
S: Hoppy nose with notes of tropical fruits. The tortilla chips and lime really come through as well. Very interesting. Not a ton of taco seasoning on the nose, but this does smell like Mexican food. Slight cumin as the beer warms.
T: Juicy citrus and tropical fruit hops dominate with sweet hints of lemon juice, cumin and faint cilantro poking through. The hops are full of passion fruit, mango, tangerine and a touch of grapefruit. The finish is sweet and juicy, and the aftertaste is spicy and has a savory hint of chili powder, and crackery, greasy, tortilla chips. Definitely an interesting flavor profile.
M: The body is on the fuller side of medium, and the mouthfeel is greasy, sweet, juicy and chewy. Carbonation is smooth, tingly and chewy. Oily and full of greasy hop resin. Mouthfeel is on the fuller side.
O: Thankfully the spices complemented the hops rather than turning this beer into a bitter spicy mess. The chips added an interesting oily greasy fried chip taste which really made me want some nachos. I liked this for what it was, as I think they hit the mark perfectly, but as a beverage and an IPA I wouldn't drink this that often.
