On tap at Toronado SD, into a pint

Im gonna do a quick review because im getting to other Cellarmaker brews, but this is just delicious. Possibly the best pale ale ive had. Juicy, in a West Coast way, with citrus and tropical nuances exploding across your palate. Such a flavorful pale for the ABV.

Had on draft in a pint glass. Not much head with mild carbonation. Had a cloudy, yellow appearance with citrus, pineapple and pine aromas. Mild hops along with flavors of lemon, orange and tropical fruit with some of that pine coming through. Tasted better than it looked.

I like almost all of Cellarmakers Pale Ales, IPA's and Double IPA's, but this beer doesn't make the cut. I got nothing on the nose and the taste was bland. Probably the worst Cellarmaker beer I ever had.

Appearance: Arrives very cloudy with a honey color and a dense head; some lacing left behind

Smell: A tropical fruit salad, with pineapple, kiwi and citrus

Taste: A touch bready, but the unusual hop bill really takes over to provide pineapple, kiwi and citrus tones; very floral and fruity in the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Several recent beers have claimed the pineapple territory lately, but this one takes the crown; I have never heard of the hops used here before, but they lend a unique flavor to this beer

A- Pours a suprisingly murky neon yellow with a white head that lingers for a minute or two. Very interesting appearance for a pale ale.

S- Pineapple comes across strongly with some danker hop notes, a bit of rye

T- Just fantastic. This might be my favorite beer with rye in it, although the favoritism is due the awesome hops that just happen to play off the rye perfectly. The South African Southern Passion and Riwaka hops are so unique.

M- Carbonation not lacking in the slightest, and the hops just sit so heavy on the palate. Truly a wonderful beer, but I have come to expect nothing less from Cellarmaker.

O- Overall this is a style-defying pale with some exotic hops, pretty much right up my alley. Hops might be just a bit stronger in the nose than they are on taste.
