Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours hazy golden yellow with a frothy cream white head that settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.
S: Opens with slightly dank herbal notes and a hint of Southern Hem diesel, quickly followed by zesty citrus and resinous tones, with an underlying mix of exotic, tropical, and stone fruit, plus a hint of melon, held together with biscuity malt and a little caramel sweetness.
T: Bright zesty citrus, lime, lemon, grapefruit, and tangerine, exotic, tropical, and stone fruit, passion fruit, gooseberry, strawberry, pineapple peach, apricot, white grape, mango, and a hint of melon slightly dank herbal notes, a bit resinous, biscuity malt, and a little caramel sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderately prickly carbonation, soft on the palate.
O: This might sound a little dumb, but for such a bland looking label (by their standards), the liquid in the can behind it is wonderfully complex. Each hop used is pretty distinct, and rather than fight for the spotlight, they come together to make create a cohesive beer with a ton of depth, while each getting to show off what they bring to the table. I think the only thing I'd change is dialing back the herbal notes from the Strata a notch, but I'd still happily drink a second pint
