"Mocha and Cigarettes" is a slightly beefed up version of our "Coffee and Cigarettes" Smoked Coffee Porter with Vanilla and a blend of Tcho Cacao Nibs from Ecuador and Ghana. We used a little less coffee than normal on this batch so that the coffee could share the stage with the Vanilla and the Nibs.

Appearance: Arrives fudge brown with a thin mocha cap; streaky lacing
Smell: Chocolate, vanilla and coffee with hints of toasted marshmallow
Taste: Chocolate and vanilla forward with the coffee and marshmallow building through the middle; slightly bitter and roasty in the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: Hits a lot of the elements for a smoked beer without being overwhelming

The beer is black with a medium-sized brown head. A little lacing. Nice even cap of foam. The aroma is big on fudgey chocolate with backing molasses sweetness. The roast comes in and gives the beer a mild smoky edge. Loads of vanilla. It has a definite s’more-ish quality. Toasty sugars on top of milk chocolate with a vanilla topping. Taste is fairly sweet but finishes with no cloy. Lots of vanilla. The vanilla pushes the darker malt flavors back somewhat. There’s some nice depth, but it’s a lot of sweet chocolate and vanilla. A tiny bit of grassy hops in the finish. Very fun to drink. Smooth feel matches well with the flavor. Very tasty beer. I tend to be sensitive to too much vanilla flavor, but this has no artificiality or sticky sweetness, so it works quite well. Plus, there’s a ton of chocolate, and the base beer is delicious on its own. Great work.

12oz pour at Cellarmaker
Beer pours a thick creamy white head, awesome coffee and chocolate nose with a hint of smokiness, nice mouthfeel and cocoa vanilla up front and slighter roasty coffee to finish it up compared to coffee and cigs, love this one.

Really enjoyed this one. Reminds me of a less bitter Ballast Point Victory at Sea. Pretty rich thought, I couldn't drink more than a glass of this though.
