a really impeccable beer, my first and probably favorite from these guys, although they were all insanely good. hard to believe nobody knew who they were just a short time ago. now its a real hot ticket. this one has a young brett profile, mildly funky, but less developed. seems to aid more in dryness than in flavor, which i am fine with. the hops are the star here, the mosaic leads the way, tropical fruit, lime, vegetal matter, even lush aloe and cactus elements going on, so original. the grain base is very pale, must have some wheat, and possibly even rye. i picked up a zippy little spice in the middle of it, but that could just as well be from some euro hop type. really clean finish, aided by the brett. some my clamor for more of that funk, but i like its reserved nature, more saison and farmhouse type than wild ale, and thats just fine in a hoppy beer like this one. i think its really well carbonated, and really really drinkable. i could have made a day of these, and someday i would like to. reminds me of something hill farmstead would do, and thats awfully high praise. i dont think these guys package beer yet? but when they do, this should be near the top of the list! one of the best beers i had on my trip to california. on tap at the source.

Poured into a pint glass. Cloudy, with a yellow with faint orange tinge. Refreshing. I could have drunk this all day. Floral notes, mildly hoppy, and very smooth for an IPA. Sunday afternoon beer on a hot day.
