Soured over 48 hours in stainless with lactobacillus, this Berliner Weisse-esque beer was then fermented on puréed kiwi and then further conditioned on cara cara orange zest (the best kind of orange) for a week. The resulting brew is tropical and orangey with a clean acidity that fades to a grainy nuttiness from Pilsner, wheat and spelt malts.

On tap at Cellarmaker Brewing Company in San Francisco, CA.
Pours a murky light yellow with a foamy white head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is slightly sour with wheat, citrus fruit, citrus juice, citrus zest, and acidic aromas. Taste is much the same with sour kiwi, citrus zest, and acidic flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty, refreshing, and easy to drink.
Serving type: on tap.
