Electric Eye has a pretty evenly split up hopping of Nelson, Galaxy and Simcoe which makes this another delicious Cellarmaker juice bomb. Ripe mango and candy orange aromas launch out of the glass in an intense olfactory ignition. The flavor is of smooth and silky malt with a touch of piney hops to balance the light sweetness. Hazy bordering on cloudy for maximum mouthfeel, flavor and aroma. 37 IBUs.

Top tier golden clarity pours into a 1974 Marquette jersey pint glass with 1.5" white head space. Its a great looking west coast ipa with more than average headspace. The aroma is strong, plenty of Nelson giving that garlic and weed body odor, weed of the danky basement variety. Light tropical guava and/or mango note as well.
The taste brings a brisk pine and citric punch alongside the previously described Nelson hop punchiness. Its got that crisp, bitter west coast ipa taste and mouthfeel, but with a much lower malt bill than those old school west coast ones used to have. Its super minimal. Prickly. Not sure if its the label art or whatnot, but this feels like its "green". Vegetal green. I find the 37ibu number to be about half of what I sense. There's plenty of Galaxy and Simcoe hops that would seemingly push that number to twice its size. I dug it, and somehow the name and imagery are fitting.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours faintly hazy golden yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and laces nicely.
S: Bright zesty citrus, resinous pine, a mix of exotic, tropical, and stone fruit, a touch grassy, faint slightly dank herbal hints, and slightly crackery biscuity malt,
T: Resinous pine, a bit grassy, bright citrus zest, orange, grapefruit, and lemon lime, exotic, tropical, and stone fruit, gooseberry, pineapple, white grape, passion fruit, mango, apricot, and peach, subtle underlying slightly dank herbal notes, crackery biscuity malt, and a fairly dry finish.
M: A touch on the lighter side of medium body, moderate carbonation, crisp.
O: Absolutely classic Cellarmaker style pale ale. So much hoppy goodness packed into a smaller body, not to mention with a fantastic combo that brings such great depth. I hope this one finds its way back into their rotation. It's too good to only come out to play every couple years.

On Tap
Palate Contaminants: none
Ahhhhh... consuming in an uncontrolled environment!
The appearance is exactly like white grapefruit juice. It's plenty hazy, too.
Smell is bitter papaya, and I have no idea why those go together. There is also a little bit of sweet citrus that evades better definition. Also joining in is a slight metallic taste. That's a bunch of things that wouldn't seem to go together, but it's actually good.
The main taste is bitter pine resin on a moderately strong malt canvas. There's not much sweetness to speak of, which is a little surprising. There is also a fresh peat flavor. Even I'm surprised I'm not getting more different flavors, but I just report.
The aftertaste is more bitter than anything, and it clings. The carbonation is moderate-fine.

On tap at brewery. Exceptional. Really great fluffy mouthfeel and dry hopped juice. This beer could have been a muddled mess - lots of resin, citrus, and pine don't overpower the nicer notes of peach, mango, and pineapple. Mouthfeel is just so clutch on this beer. I could drink all night.

This pours a cloudy gold in color. There's a muted aroma, with some tropical and citrus notes muddled together. I get a flat citrus taste with this wonderful toasted biscuit malt character that I loved. So, a mixed bag. I don't think the hop profile works but the malt bill, mmmmm...

Love this beer. Golden hazy color and tastes a lot like mango. Cellarmaker is a stop for me anytime I visit Aan Francisco.
