Brewed with traditional German lager yeast, Weyermann Bohemian Pilsner malt and hopped well with Saaz and Tettnang, this pils is exactly the crushable hoppy lager we love.

i think its incredible to see cellarmaker beer in colorado, they are a highly acclaimed operation who i have loved in the past, but part of me also wishes they didnt just send a decent pils out, like, it would be better to keep their beer in fantasy land out west and dream of it than it is to drink a rather samey pils. if you arent sending the heat at this point, dont bother. thats a little negative, and this is a better than average pils, but its nothing special, and it sort of takes the mystery and intrigue out of cellarmaker a little bit. its a little hoppier than most, bitter and grassy with lime and pine notes to it, some middle sweetness, and a pretty sturdy body all the way through. nice carbonation, and the german lager yeast dries it out and gives it a crisp and traditional tasting finish, but its just a good lager, and really could have come from anyone. i happily enjoyed a pint of this yesterday, but i hope next time i drink cellarmaker beer in denver that i am having something a little more unique...

On draft at Cellarmaker
All the saaz hops kind of threw me off at first, but after another glass it worked better for me. I love german pils and although this falls short of world class territory, it was a nice attempt and enjoyable. Must order if you like the Saaz! They really dumped some hops in this batch!
