We brewed this brettanomyces influenced IPA with a house blend of brett that has been kept happy here at Cellarmaker for almost a year now. Hopped with Equinox, Galaxy and Motueka, this one brings plenty of fruit from the hops as well as pungent fruit and earthy leather from the brett. We want the Funk!

On-tap at THG.
A: Pours a lightly cloudy lemon golden with a cap of oily white head that faded into a lasting collar.
S: Sweet tropical nose with fruity brett and a touch of creamy and earthy spice. Light musty quality to the nose that doesn't translate to the mouth.
T: Tropical fruits and melon dominate with a touch of clean citrus zest in the finish. Brett is fruity overall, but there's a slight earthy and peppery spice in the finish. Aftertaste is juicy and sweet with lingering fruit nectar and also a kiss of tingly and bitter hop oils. Melon lingers long after the swallow.
M: Very fresh and clean with a crisp medium-light body and a drying finish despite have a juicy and sweet flavor. Very soft carbonation, clean and smooth overall.
O: An awesome brett IPA. The hops are dominating and are very fresh so the brett takes a backseat, but the characteristics it lends to the hops compliments them very well. If this was in a bottle I'd age it a few months to let the brett develop a bit more to see how it changes. Great beer though.
