Galaxy, with its crazy tropical Pineapple – Orange – Guava aroma that’s laced with zesty lime and ginger spice, is one of those hops that doesn’t require other hops with it to make a beer pop. One sniff and sip of this beer will show you what we are talking about. In order for you to have an unadulterated Galaxy experience, we brew Galaxy Blaster with our house neutral ale yeast which doesn’t obfuscate the beautiful hop character.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass

A: Pours hazy golden amber with a frothy off white head that settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.

S: Resinous, green, citrus zest, light underlying tropical and stone fruit, grassy, and crackery biscuity malt

T: Zesty citrus, grapefruit, lime, lemon, and tangerine, resinous, tropical and stone fruit, under ripe pineapple and mango, passion fruit, and apricot, a bit grassy, a hint of Southern Hem diesel, crackery biscuity malt, and just a touch of light caramel sweetness.

M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, somewhat soft on the palate.

O: Galaxy is one of my favorite hops so I had fairly high hopes for this one. Took me a little while to settle into it being a "Hazy West Coast IPA". It works and it definitely has of that classic Cellarmaker profile, but I think it could really use just a bit more sweetness to help balance things and really show off all the fruity goodness that Galaxy has to offer.

Yellow with foam AF.

Nose full of galaxy hops.

Dry, over ripe melon like Galaxy. Pina colada, too. I like drinking this. Needs just a tinge of bitterness.

Soft, pithy, don't even notice the carbonation.

I think this was from that batch the old lady brought back from Cellarmaker. Pours a gravy like appearance but without the viscosity of gravy. Just the look of white gravy. 2/3" white head poured into an old school Sam Adams pint glass. Dig the label, that's worth .25 appearance points. Aroma strokes the Galaxy hop, usual pineapple and pine smells going on.

Taste has more of the bitterness you don't see a lot in something this hazy. And oh yeah, it probably should be listed as such a style, since it is pretty much everywhere else. Expressive yeast? Dunno about that one, fails to distinguish itself as is often the case with big hopped ipas, and maybe all for the better. Its a juxtaposition in there, there is more bitterness than the creamy body would make one think, and I typically don't think of Galaxy hops as bittering hops, but they do just fine here.

Its a good beer, right around average for Cellarmaker's hoppy products, maybe even slightly below. Sticker in Cole's room because the boy likes his video games.

Can from lupulo.
~2 wks old.
L: orangina soda with the fluffiest creamy head ever. Retention and lace.
S: tangerine, stonefruit
T: Same as smell. Little spicy citrus.
F: juicy, very slight bitterness at end. Finished dry.
Overall: I didn’t realize galaxy could be this good on its own. Super crushable

On a guest tap at Green Cheek in Costa Mesa, CA.

I’m surprised this one has such low reviews. Because of that, Ima call it “The Shawshank Redemption” of beers. Not acclaimed when it first came out, but after it was shown on TNT 100 times, it’s a goodie. This damn sucker is just all kinds of tropical with a creamy, lush backbone. To me, it would be like taking Vittoria Ceretti for a ride (if she was into it - which she isn’t. But Raul can dream).

Yep!

Poured from three-day-old crowler. Carb seemed kind of off. But the smell was great, super hazy and somewhat thick feeling. Great fruitiness, a hint of spicy ginger. Tasty.

On tap at the brewery.

Hazy as heck with a thin white head. Nose is all Galaxy fruity hop goodness but with a hop darkness that cuts thru the fruit notes in a completely unique way. Melon, mango, papaya and peach, quite delish. The palate opens juicy with lots of fruit and nice glalaxy hop notes. Drying and fruity on the finish with a medium light body. Nice.
