So over about a year later and I'm still writing the first review for this beer on BA? Slackers.
Pours yellow, hazy. 2/5" white head. When you look at all these heavy hitters in terms of aroma hops, you might have expectations higher than reality pans out. I mean, Nelson, Mosaic, well, along the lines of the commercial tug job for beers like Wild Gooseberry Chase, they're damned right the Nelson quality varies greatly. Here, it falls flat, similar feels with Mosaic too. Just wasn't all that impressive. Nothing smelled bad, but man it really lacked that diesel heft.
Taste was mild, again, the hops just weren't popping off. Citra was probably the most noticable, and it had this profile that would have made me guess Citra and Centennial with some of the pine notes. Just not the stuff evocative of Galaxy, Strata, Mosaic and Nelson. Aside from the disparity quality wise with Nelson, makes you wonder if the hops just started cancelling each other out. The base was normal and mild too.
A decent beer, but below average for Cellarmaker.
