New comer Strata hops are showcased here alongside some good ol’ Mosaic. Strata is really cool. It’s a very weedy hop. Yes, that weed. It reeks of pineapple, lemon & Bonnaroo. We think the guava, tangerine & pine elements of the Mosaic team up perfectly to make this focused, dank and fruity IPA. This is a West Coast IPA, so that means it’s clear, crisp & resinous.

Pours a hazy yellow with soapy head.
Smell is crisp and fruity with notes of orange, orange peel, pine, green tea and pineapple.
Taste is crisp and fruity with notes of pine, citrus, citrus peel pineapple, peach and tea. Moderate bitterness with hints of gunpowder tea on the finish.
Mouthfeel is medium, sticky and well carbonated.
Overall, a very nice modern west coast IPA where the Mosaic and Strata play very well together.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours crystal clear golden yellow with a frothy cream white head that settles to a light layer and laces nicely.
S: Bright, zesty citrus, resinous pine, slightly dank herbal notes, a little underlying tropical and stone fruit, grassy notes, biscuity faintly bready malt, and a little caramel sweetness.
T: Resinous, citrus, grapefruit, lemon, and tangerine, dank herbal earthy notes, pine, underlying tropical and stone fruit, peach, apricot, pineapple, passion fruit, hint of papaya and mango, and faint blueberry and under ripe strawberry, biscuity slightly bready malt, and a little caramel sweetness.
M: Sits a little on the fuller side of medium body, assertive yet still somewhat soft.
O: Grew on me little by little as it warmed up. Not my personal favorite in this series, but still really solid.

Sweet tropical hoppy, hint of blueberries, and a nice Mosaic-dank nose on this one! Taste follows with a tropical hoppy, slightly malty, and a piney bitter finish. This is clean and enjoyable to drink...I just wish that the Mosaic vines were a little more large and in charge. Good!

Draft to a mason jar fill for takeout.
Consumed 1 hour later.
Clear light amber. Minimal head from jar.
West coast smell but restrained. Some honey sweetness. Little grapefruit. Don’t really get much of the dank that is advertised.
Well balanced. Medium crisp and dry finish. No alcohol presence.
Went down pretty easy.
