The third installment in our series of decadent stouts. #3 is a chewy, gooey stout which has loads of dark chocolate, French roast coffee and marshmallow flavors. We then infuse the beer with immense amounts of Madagascar vanilla and then lesser amounts of Sightglass coffee, Cru cacao nibs, chiles and cinnamon for pie and ice cream like rich aromas and flavors.

500ml bottle, stemmed glass. Dark cola brown body, fairly opaque, one finger mocha head, short retention and not a lot of lacing. Beer is remniscent of mexican hot chocolate with milk chocolate, a bit of vanilla and coffee, touch of bitter dark chocolate, very light cinnamon, then a slight peppery heat that lingers through to the backend, along with a bit of sugar. Reasonably pastry-like, lots of adjunct flavours going on but nothing that really stands out. The peppery spice on the backend is fairly mild. Medium lighter bodied, good carbonation, but a bit light on the palate.

On tap.
L: Dark cola brown. Looks dark but not oil-like. No head, zero lacing.
S: Dark fruits, molasses, caramel, lactose and chocolate. Cinnamon also detectible, and comes out more as it warms.
T: Nice. Chocolate and coffee are dominant flavors, and then the chiles kick in, lending a nice amount of heat. The vanilla is subtle providing pleasant undertones. Lactose is on the finish. Coffee comprises majority of aftertaste with lingering milk sugar sweetness and pepper presence.
F: Light in body, lower end of medium in weight. It feels thin but still is slick and palate coating. Nice feel to the beer, just expected more. Moderate carbonation.
O: A good tasting brew and one I am glad to have tried. Cheers!
