Collaboration with Great Notion Brewing
Neapolitan Pillow Fight is a collaboration between Cellarmaker and Great Notion. We stepped outside our comfort zone and brewed a Double Milkshake IPA inspired by the tasty three colored/three flavored ice cream treat. Strawberry, lactose, Madagascar vanilla, @cruchocolate cacao nibs and @tooniemoonie organic marshmallow creme, as well as Simcoe and Strata hops, come together to make a sweet and luscious dessert beer.

16 oz can at share. Hazy yellow pour, tiny collar of head. Sweet pastry aromas. Light sweet. Vanilla, white chocolate, light berry. Subdued, but tasty

16oz can, snifter glass. Murky copper body, bit of an orange hue, one finger frothy white head, good retention, bit of lacing. Smell is vanilla and lactose, big dose of citrus and herbal hop aromatics, a light chocolatey cocoa. Not a lot of strawberry. It's very much a vanilla milkshake IPA. The hops aren't left behind by any means. Again, the strawberry is very light and did not show up very much on the nose or palate, but the vanilla and cocoa played well with the intrinsically hoppy double IPA beneath the surface. Medium bodied, good carbonation, smooth with a nice light cocoa and hop resin finish.

Neapolitan Pillow Fight pours a murky, muted brownish-yellow, like if you combined all the ice cream flavors together, with no head or lacing. The smell is minimal with just a hint of fruitiness on the nose and a wisp of vanilla. More flavor then smell, as the chocolate, vanilla and strawberry all come through with the sweetness from the lactose sugar. A slight hoppiness that quickly subsided leaving a lingering marshmallow flavor.
