Collaboration with Alvarado Street Brewery

First there was Hank, then there was Dank, now there’s Dauv. That’s right, Dauv is back in another sudsy adventure as Cellarmaker and Alvarado Street Brewery team up to bring you one of our greatest hits. Dauv Williams is a juicy and extremely hazy Double IPA brewed with boat loads of oats, Mosaic, Galaxy and Nelson hops. This over the top beer is DOUBLE DRY-HOPPED for maximum intensity. Layers and layers of tropical fruit and freshly cured dank in this one!

Sweet, tropical hoppy, and Nelson hop aromatics on this one! Taste follows with some orange/grapefruit citrus and slightly dank bitterness. Nice depth and feel. Good Stuff!

Drank on tap at Cellarmaker Brewing Co., San Francisco, CA
Served in a tulip

The beer poured a hazy straw yellow and was topped by a half-inch tall, fluffy white crown that quickly fell to a thin collar. No lacing or head retention whatsoever.

The aroma was really fruity and well balanced. Nice melding of citrus and tropical fruits. Juicy orange and mango notes were apparent. Bit of tangerine as well. Hint of peach too. As the beer warmed, some dankness appeared. The dankness really intensified by the drink’s end.

Citrus notes dominated in the flavor profile. Lots of orange and tangerine up front. Wheaty and lemony in the center. Grapefruit appeared on the back end and crescendoed in the finish. Like in the nose, the dank Mosaic hop notes appeared later and really intensified by the drink’s end.

Nice creamy, frothy, fluffy mouthfeel. Medium bodied for the style. The liquid contained a lively effervescence that gave the liquid a terrific lightness on the palate.

Dauv Williams is an impressive, no frills double dry hopped double IPA that rivals many of the better offerings from New England’s best hop-focused breweries. Cellarmaker has been on my “to-do” list for a number of years now, and this was a great introduction to them.
