This was back from the economic bloodletting days when they shipped to your doorsteps. 1st review of this beer on BA, I didn't just add it without reviewing it like some psychopath. Anyhoo, this is a barrel fermented beer.
Pours a hazy beige/dull apricot color that looks like a hazy ipa kind of. 1/3" white head. Aroma has that dry oak meets sour aroma going for it with some light stone fruit like brett notes. Pretty nice brett fruitiness in a beer with no fruit added. Das it mane.
Taste fleshes out what is a pretty unique way of making a beer. You get the Enigma hopped pale ale that doesn't really exude much in the way of hoppiness a year later. But it does pick up plenty of brett and bacteria notes. Those evolve into a dry dark fruit meets stone fruit angle. Bitterness not really going on much despite the hops and dark fruit inputs. Good tart and sourness without being amplified or using that fruit crutch. Carbonation well done, naturally with that barrel fermentation.
So yeah, this is good, but cost is at a premium. I think I rated a $4 beer slightly higher than this $15 beer in the previous review. Glad to try it again, well done beer, but you know, costly.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
