West Coast IPA might be down, but it’s not out! One Foot in the Grave brings together Nelson, Centennial and HBC 586 hops to create an aromatic brew redolent of cannabis, lemon Warheads and mountain valley pine forest. The flavor is layered with tangy hop oils and Campari like citrus bitterness. No guessing here; you’ll know you’re drinking an aggressive IPA from sip number one!

L - classic WCIPA crystalline bubbly; let's go, more bubbles than Champagne, amber gold victory. Nice lacing as it goes down the glass, too.
S - Dank, weedy, catty, lemongrass, and just melon pine floor for days.
T - Where this Foot shines, great bitterness, and it shows what CAN be done with HBC 586 (Krush) instead of using it as the only hop. But with Nelson and Centennial playing opposing orthogonal roles? This is a great tasting west coaster, graceful on the palate, but aggressive on the palate. Dry at the end.
F - Mouthfeel is exactly what I want - like a bit of a modern spin on BlindPig - impeccable balance with just a bit more "oomph" on the IBU end and impression. Finishes beautifully clean and dry.
O - another damn banger from Cellarmaker - these people are killing it.

Took quite a while to get through this largely unpleasant IPA. A real tongue scrubber and unfortunately a lingering harsh bitterness is the defining character. A waste of HBC 586.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours golden yellow with a frothy pale khaki head that settles to a light layer and leaves a little light lacing.
S: Quick hit of citrus followed by sulphury dank green herbal notes, a touch resinous, subtle fruity hints, bready malt, and just a touch of caramel sweetness.
T: Spicy green dank herbal sulphury notes, a bit resinous, citrus, lemon and a little tangerine, subtle underlying exotic, tropical and stone fruit, mango, apricot, white grape, pineapple, gooseberry, and papaya, bready malt, and a touch of caramel sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: I'm sure some will like this one more than I do, and that they hit the mark they were going for, but I'm just not big on how strong of a sulphury green note the HBC 486 brings. Otherwise it's a solid kinda old school feeling Westy.
