Bottled and blended in late 2021, this batch of Bourbon Blammo finds itself with with layers and layers of tantalizing complexity. For the 2021 blend we brought together the following four components:
30% Heaven Hill aged Stout (12 months)
30% Weller Reserve aged Stout (13 months)
30% Heaven Hill aged Barleywine (12 months)
10% Weller Reserve aged Double Barrel Stout (barrel 1: 10 months; barrel 2: 10 months)
After combining these elements we then conditioned the base on over 40 lbs per barrel of organic toasted coconut.
The result is the intersection of elegantly divine bourbon infused magic and rich coconut pastry decadence.

Sweet milk chocolate, hint of vanilla bourbon barrel, and nice amount of coconut nose on this one! Taste follows with a very sweet, candied chocolate-caramel and brown sugar malty, and coconut-candy boozy finish. This is very good, but a little too sweet IMO. The sweetness takes away from enjoying the additions fully. Additionally, this one is a little thinner than the 2020 batch. If I had to choose, I would definitely take the 2020 batch over this one. After posting about drinking adjuncted stouts right away, this one might benefit from some aging! LOL! There might be some coconut fall off...but, there might also be some calming down from the barleywine sweetness. Toned down sweetness would make this one a little more enjoyable.
