When Amy & Zack from Shred Beer Co. started talking to us about brewing a hoppy collab we knew we weren’t about to shy away from using some hard hitting hops. Macrodose goes big & bold, flexing some extremely dank hops. Up front we added some Columbus Cryo right at the start of fermentation to thoroughly infuse the piney, tangy marijuana notes. Then we highly dry hopped with Mosaic, Simcoe & some of the most amazing NZ Nectaron we have ever smelled. So sit back, breathe easy & get ready for the Macrodose to kick in.

Pours a nearly clear orangey amber with adequate foam in the Duvel tulip. Aromatic with citrus and peach. Moderately sweet with some acidity. Flavors of tangerine, orange peel, pear, and mango. Plenty of bitterness in the aftertaste. Overall this is a tasty double IPA with good balance in every direction. From the 16 oz can purchased at Bine & Vine in San Diego. No apparent date.

Near perfectly clear, copper color. White head that leaves beautiful lacing. Nose is citrus, like lemon zesty with piney overtones. Superb bitterness across entire palate.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours golden straw yellow wit a frothy off white head that settles to a thin layer and leaves a little thin lacing.
S: First hit brings slightly spicy dank herbal notes, but it's quickly overtaken by a wall of ripe citrus, tropical and stone fruit, rounded out with a little pine, faint floral notes, light biscuity malt, and honey sweetness.
T: Citrus, lemon and tangerine, tropical and stone fruit, passion fruit, mango, pineapple, nectarine, and guava, dank earthy herbal undertones, a little resinous pine, floral notes, slightly crackery biscuity malt, and honey sweetness.
M: A touch on the lighter side of medium body, moderate carbonation, surprisingly light and soft.
O: Going in I was expecting a dank aggressive West Coast DIPA. What I got instead was a dangerously smooth tropical IPA with some dank accents, and I'm not complaining. Not sure I've ever had a 8.2% IPA be so light in color and feel, yet so full of flavor, all the while keeping that ABV totally hidden. Super impressive beer.
