One of our favorite malt and hop driven lager styles and more traditionally referred to as polotmavý ležák, or half-dark lager, in Czechia. Shadows in Bloom is the perfect intersection of deeply flavorful malt and spicy Czech Saaz hops. A single decoction mash step develops flavors of rich whole wheat and seeded bread crust with hints of desiccated currants and burnt sugar. The saturated hop character helps balance but also enhances the malt as well. Don’t be fooled by the dark amber color and multitude of flavors.
