Every year we travel to Washington to carefully choose the best hops from the American Pacific Northwest. In the rooms where we select these hops focus is paramount and it feels as if time stands still. Timeland is a West Coast IPA that is brewed with three of those hops: Mosaic, Citra and Idaho 7 - a perfect triumvirate to bring the heaviest dankness, citrus, pine and guava tang.

Clear golden amber with plenty of foam in the Maredsous goblet. Aromatic with peach and citrus with some alfalfa in the nose. Rather sweet and fruity. Flavors of plum and pine. Resiny finish and moderate bitterness. Quite sharp and verges on the acidic. Full of aromatics and thoroughly interesting, but gets a little harsh after a few sips. From the 16 oz can purchased in the Northwest. Not dated.

Dank fresh hopped goodness, just absolutely wonderful. Shared with a new buddy who had the opportunity to try it direct from the tanks. Thank you, kind stranger!

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours golden yellow with a little chill haze and a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and leaves a some thin lacing.
S: Herbal, spicy, earthy, a touch grassy, citrus, subtle tropical and stone fruit, biscuity malt, and a touch of caramel sweetness.
T: Spicy herbal notes, a bit earthy, muddled citrus, tangerine and lemon, underlying tropical and stone fruit slowly emerge, mango, guava, peach, apricot, and blueberry, a little resinous pine, a touch grassy, biscuity malt, and a little caramel sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: This one took a little while to open up. The nose and the first few sips were dominated by all the earthy herbal notes from the Idaho 7, but eventually the citrus showed up, and after that the fruity notes came out of hiding. By the end it turned into a pretty nicely balanced Westy. Solid, but not my favorite.
