Here’s a rad hop combo for you. This celebratory West Coast Pilsner features Cascade hops from New Zealand, America AND AUSTRALIA! That’s right, as far as we know we are the first West Coast brewery to brew with Australian grown Cascade hops, something we didn’t even know existed until a couple of years ago. Once we found access to them the Cellarmaker procurement squad got right on bringing in a few boxes. Some of you may know that we are huge fans of the New Zealand grown version so we were pretty stoked to see what the Australian version had in store for us. Honestly they smell so unique with bright citrus and guava that we probably will be brewing with them a whole lot more in the future!

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours golden straw with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and leaves a little spotty lacing.
S: Grassy, citrus zest, slightly herbal pine, underlying tropical and stone fruit, faintly floral, subtle sulphur tones, grainy, crackery biscuity malt, and a touch of honey sweetness.
T: A bit grassy, lively citrus, pink grapefruit, tangerine, and lemon lime, a little pine, underlying tropical and stone fruit, peach, apricot, guava, passion fruit, and a hint of red berries, floral notes that really come out on the back end, cereal grains, crackery biscuity malt, and a touch honey sweetness.
M: Light to medium body, slightly prickly moderate carbonation.
O: I'm normally not much of a Pilsner guy, but I was excited to see how all these different versions of Cascade come together. The New Zealand and Australian Cascade definitely bring some cool extra tropical notes that you don't get from their North American cousins. Really cool concept, but there's a little extra sweetness there that's keeping me from liking it more.

On the tap this pours a bright and light golden color. Bright and hoppy, with an almost tropical note and a crisp finish. Happy 11th Anniversary, Cellarmaker.
