Wow. We really did it. This is the highest ABV hoppy beer we’ve ever made at our Oakland facility. On a recent, majorly inspiring trip to Asheville, NC visiting our buds at Burial Beer Co, we noticed that they are big fans of Quadruple IPAs and brew them pretty regularly. We’ve only ever made Quadruple Dobis maybe 4 times in our 11 years of doing this. Never anything else in the way of a QIPA. Well, here we are. Burial shared their Appalachian Quad IPA secrets and this beer turned out to be pretty incredible.
The aroma coming off the kettle on brew day was the most intense hoppy aroma we’ve ever experienced in all of our years of doing this…a whirlpool of Krush T90, Citra Cryo and Citra dynaboost will do that. Our entire building smelled like tangerine and terpenes and when we took a quick whiff inside the kettle our eyes began to water. It was then that we knew we’d hopped this absolute beast of a beer appropriately. This one is loaded up with Citra, Citra Dynaboost, Citra Cryo, Nectaron, Galaxy and Krush. Aroma and flavor on point. Pineapple dole whip, ganja smarties, peach kush and melon. Holy shit. It’s a big beer. Let’s party.
