DBA Chocolate Munichwine
Brewed in collaboration with our friends at Private Press, Futures Passed is a deep and contemplative exploration of malt, oak, and time. This 17.1% chocolate Munichwine spent 22 months in Stagg Jr. bourbon barrels, followed by 18 months in Willett Family Estate straight rye barrels, developing extraordinary depth and complexity along the way. Layers of dark chocolate, burnt sugar, fig, charred oak, and warming spice unfold slowly, with the bold structure of Munich malt wrapped in waves of spirit-soaked intensity. Silky, rich, and hauntingly smooth—this is a beer built for reflection, not haste. The future has passed. Drink it while it’s here.

Molasses and burnt brown sugar, raisiny-figs, a hint of chocolate malts, and a bourbon barrel boozy nose on this one! Taste follows with a sweet and decadent, caramel and chocolate, vanilla-bourbon barrel boozy finish...the dark fruity notes are secondary at first, but as it warms, it starts to make itself known more. I think I like this one better than Triple Barrel Batch 2000! This is outstanding!

Look - Pours a clear very dark brown color with a light head that doesn't last long.
Smell - Has a very interesting nose. Bourbon, Rye, malt, chocolate, dark fruit, and spice.
Taste - Taste is nice - a somewhat mellow mix of chocolate, bourbon, malt, spice, and fig.
Feel - Feels smooth and creamy, goes down so easy for a 17.1%ABV beer. Really nice!
Overall - My $32 bottle was only 8.4 oz, but I really enjoyed it!
