We cranked up the hop load on our beloved Mt. Nelson pale ale to an outrageous 6lbs. per barrel of 100% Nelson Sauvin for a turbocharged ride through Sauvignon Blanc grape, passionfruit pulp, and that signature dank diesel we all know and love. Using our most choice lots from some of our favorite New Zealand growers (Freestyle, Garston, and Mac) this one’s loud—ripe, resinous, and in your face Nelson. Super Mt. Nelson is less of a casual hike and more of a rocket ship to the summit—hold on tight!

This is one of the best pale ales by a really good pale ale making brewery. Double the amount of hops as Mt. Nelson, which has a 93 score on BA. I will always get a couple of four packs when these are available.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours hazy golden amber with a frothy eggshell white head that settles to a thin layer and leaves a little nice lacing.
S: Grassy, herbal earthy notes, a touch of Southern Hem diesel, plenty of underlying exotic, tropical and stone fruit, plus some citrus, slightly spicy and resinous, biscuity malt, and a little caramel sweetness.
T: Green grassy herbal slightly earthy resinous notes, hints of Southern Hem diesel, exotic, tropical, and stone fruit, pineapple, gooseberry, passion fruit, apricot, white grape, and a hint of melon, citrus, tangerine and lemon lime, biscuity malt, and a little caramel sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, soft on the palate, super smooth.
O: I was really hoping to like this one more. The green side took the lead, kinda muddying the waters before the fruity side got a chance to sing. I remember that being a part of the original, but was hoping this version would be a bit brighter and cleaner. Still a really cool crushable Nelson beer that stands out from the crowd, but I don't think it's a step up from any of the other beers in this series.
