I don't like barley wine. Let's just lay that on the table.
But I received this one as a gift, so I was of course going to try it. It's also the first Hungarian craft beer I ever tasted.
It pours copper, without a discernible head. The nose is heavy on malt, with some honey. The first feel of the body is the silky smoothness, then it's basically a malt bomb with herbs, finishing off with very bitter hops. Also very boozy.
This is actually not quite as bad as the last barley wine I had, but I still don't like it. At least I will finish it.
