Dunkel means dark, and this Southern German wheat beer has the mahogany brown to copper color that paints the canvas of autumn. Our Dunkelweizen comes in at 7% ABV with a flavor and mouthfeel that make it seem much less. The sweet malt backbone shines above the 18 IBU and pairs with the beautiful Hefeweizen phenols which give this brew a nice banana/clove aroma and flavor. The Dunkel dances with your peduncle neurons sending sensory memories of banana bread cooking on a cool September day, giving you a medium clean body mouthfeel with a dry finish, leaving you wanting more. Prost!

Enjoyed on draft at the annual Ashfield fall festival, poured into a 16 oz plastic cup.
L - Slightly hazed dark copper color, a thin cap of off white is fed from steady carbonation.
S - Dark wheat, some notes of clove, and grassy hops
T - Very much follows the nose, added is a nice light brown sugar, and fruit esters.
M - Dances across the palate, light in body, well carbonated quick to clean up with a semi sweet linger
O - A well crafted Wheat Dunkel, so glad to have enjoyed this offering

A: crystal clear; mahogany in color; 1 finger light tan head that receded slowly to a wispy cap; nice lacing;
S: clove with banana and a hint of lemon in the background;
T: a balance between clove and banana; finish is moderately tart and mildly bitter at the same time;
M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; dry finish;
O; very nice example of the style;
