Draught: This was on a guest tap at the Cambridge BrewHouse. It was a version aged in Jack Daniels Barrels. This pours a very dark brown, almost black color. There was a little bit of a tan head on it. The aroma was slightly malty sweet and roasty, with more than a hint of the bourbon managing to come through. The taste was almost silky. Nice, rich flavors of chocolate malts with a fair amount of the bourbon taste coming through. A very nice beer.

Enjoyed on tap at the Cambridge House.

12oz glass presentation. Arrived with a 1/4" brown head over the opaque dark brown/black brew. Head was short-lived, as expected, with slow-to-fall tan lacing. Aroma is sweet dark malts, shouted down by whiskey, with vanilla/barrel notes. Taste is more of the same, which is just fine. JD character seems a bit harsh at first, but after a couple sips you move into the groove. Mouthfeel and drinkability were velvety smooth, and I was definitely jonesing for another, but alas, had to drive home so I refrained. Definitely worth seeking out. Yum.

Served at the Cambridge Brewhouse, on tap, 12 oz. glass.

This one had a tan, half finger head atop a clear, very dark brown (nearly black) body. I watched it poured, and the bartender did it expertly.

The aroma was impressive. There was a heavy hit of Jack Daniels and whisky, followed by roasted malts. It smelled slightly sweet.

Taste... very impressive. Jack Daniels to the fore, followed quickly by strong bittersweet chocolate, which slowly morphed to roasted malts. The JD flavor remained in the background throughout.

Mouthfeel was smooth, and chewy... I would give it a 5 but there was a little bit of harshness due to the JD. Still very good.

Drinkability also takes a little off due to harshness... I could drink a pint, but the 12 oz. glass was fine too. More than one would be too much though. But I would definitely go back and have it again. Definitely not a session beer.
