Special thanks for this hand delivery goes out to cooperrip...an unexpected gift.
Pours a dark brown, bordering black with less than a half finger of light tan head...goes bye-bye in no time and leaves no lacing.
Very inviting in the nose...bourbon hits first, with a solid malty sweetness and milk chocolate.
Taste is more of the same...the bourbon is the perfect compliment to this brew...just adds that something extra to have it really stand out as something special.
The malt sweetness is just enough for the style and as with their regular Brayman's Porter, has a solid dose of chocolate to qualify this as a session brew or a night cap.
Mouthfeel is a tad thin, but fairly average for the style...carbonation is perfect IMO.
A great twist on an already solid brew...thanks again John.

Barrel Aged tap serving at Sierra Grille in Northampton. 6 ounce serving in a snifter glass.

I felt this porter’s appearance was a little too soft, almost watery along the rim. Small wispy head that lasted throughout consumption. Reacted nicely when swirled.

Very warm on the nose. You could start to smell its wildness as it settled from said swirl. Vanilla and single barrel scotch vapors, simply divine.

Unbelievable on the palate. Huge bourbon flavor on the tongue, slightly numbing, but in no way took away from the experience. Nicely balanced with the porter characteristics, seemingly increasing each other’s best attributes. Silky smooth, a little heavy, appropriately sized serving.

Weather conditions aiding, 55 and rainy, I cannot remember a more appropriate beer consumed at a more appropriate time.
