What a delightful beer.

A- An amber base with some pink/purple highlights. Some moderate lacing.

S- Nose is total wine- grapeskin, hops are kind of overshadowed.

T- The grapes are strong again- Very nice puckering beer. Way more sour than I was expecting. Hop bitterness comes through in the finish although I'd be hard pressed to identify the base beer as an IPA. The cab notes dominate (which is OK by me).

M- Puckering, tart, and great carbonation.

D- This is a winner- the IPA might be masked but it's a great vehicle for all the cabernet flavors. A refreshing and unique beer that I could drink all day long.

We need more wine barrel beer, it is quite awesome.

Had this on tap at the Armsby Abbey as part of their BBC Sours. When its gone, its gone! This had been aged an additional 6 months in their cellar. Was told this had been aged in cabernet sauvignon barrel. From notes on 8/18

A - Hazy amber with one finger head. As one drinks there is super heavy side lacing.

S - Had that nice earthy cabernet smells along with sour vinegar notes and just a slight funk on the back end. No hops at all on the nose, but thats not really a bad thing.

T - Holy cow! So much sour wine tastes going on here. Its tart and sour but not really a balsamic sour but much more fruity. No hops or pine at all, but that being said this is in my opinion their best sour by far! Has pretty much nothing left from the IPA though.

M - Medium carbonation

D - That superb sourness just dances across the tougue! So tart its almost juicy. The good carbonation and flavor makes this limited beer great. While I couldn't pick up on any IPA aspects this is just delicious.
