Black, clean, and crisp with mild notes of gram cracker and chocolate, laid in with a delicate balance of spice and fruit from the German Tettnanger hops. This Schwarzbier will bring you to the high peaks.

A: appears opaque and dark brown, but if held to the light, it's crystal clear mahogany in color; a 1 finger light brown head that receded to a skim cap; nice thick rings of lace;
S: roasted grain with chocolate and cinnamon;
T: a little watery; follows the nose from start to finish; a bit of hop spice and mild to moderate bitterness toward the end;
M: light to medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;
O: OK, but not something I would go back to;

Canned 10/10/24
Clear dark brown , with one finger of tan head.
Smell is woody and nutty, with noticeable biscuit-dough malt aroma.
Taste is similar to aroma , with the biscuity element less prominent. On the dry side, less so tha a Dry Irish stout, but leaning that direction.
Feel is light-medium, with moderate , fine, carbonation tingle.
Overall, pretty good. Guessing that doughy aroma might be due to age. I'd like to try it fresher.

Pours dark red brown near black with a creamy frothy off-white foam head. Smells like mild dark fruity esters and some dark roasty malts, caramel, toffee, brown bread, hints of chocolate, and light earthy hops. Tastes like dark roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, toffee, buttered brown bread, graham cracker, toasty brown sugar, hints of dark fruit, dried fruit, tobacco spice, with earthy herbal hops. Feels medium lighter bodied, crisp, creamy with smooth moderate carbonation. Overall a nice schwarzbier.

Pours a dark color, almost black with a tinge of red around the edges. A finely textured, tan head is quick to fade to a ring of foam. For aroma, I get mostly roasted malts with a bit of char. Taste follows suit for the most part - big roasted malt flavor with just enough sweetness to keep things in check. Carbonation is spot on - a bit of cacao in the taste with a dry finish. They did a nice job with this beer and it's definitely worth a try.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated 11/01/23 into the test pint glass.
A - Dark mahagony color, the pour yielded a pillowy off white cap.
S - A hint of cocoa, a touch of char, nice roasted malts, with a bit of earthy hop
T - The flavors are very much in keeping with the aromatics, with the balance shifting more toward the
roast malt, and earthy hop.
M - Smooth as silk, glides across the palate with an exquisite dry finish
O - A very good and to style offering from Berkshire, a bit of roast, nice and dry, hints of cocoa, and just the right amount of bitterness from the earthy hops
