Tap at Texas bbq, not sure how they got this, but they did somehow. Also the person who put this into the system was wrong, it's a porter not a red ale.
Light creamy head with touch of lacing, murky dark molasses brown color with just a faint light sneaking through.
Nose brings lots of dark brown malts, molasses, brown sugar, caramel and toffee, light syrupy, lots of brown sugar or even candi sugar like, hint of mocha, and I think light wheat with hint of caramelized banana and citrus rind.
Taste starts with more malts, darker brown malts, lots of molasses and brown sugar, syrupy almost candi sugar, caramel and toffee, touch of mocha, also light wheat again with hint of caramelized banana again with faint citrus rind. Also a definite pepper heat in the back of the throat that builds a bit but never get too hot. Finish is slightly drier but a bit sweet and syrupy with lingering pepper heat and light brown sugar.
Mouth is med bodied, decent carb, some peppercorn heat.
Overall fairly nice. Nice malt flavors that don't overdo it. The peppercorn is held in check well and adds just a faint heat to let you know it's there. Orange peel is barely scratching the surface behind all the other flavors. Tasty, although I would barely call this any type of summer drinking beer.

This is the exclusive house beer for the Ten Tables restaurant in Jamaica Plain, brewed by BBC. Served in a stemmed beer glass. It has a dark red color, with a medium sized white head. Not much lacing. Smell has notes of brown sugar and caramel. Taste was very unique. The menu said it was brewed with black pepper and orange peel. Both flavors were present, but not in an overpowering way. Mouthfeel was smooth, pleasant, and malty. The alcohol was well hidden. I was a bit surprised when I saw this listed as an amber ale, as I thought the ingredients would have been better off in a porter, but in this case, it still works fairly well.
