1 week old can. Has the nitro stout look...although not as intense with the surge maybe due to lacking the widget? Black with ruby hints. Light khaki colored head. Really nice lacing and retention.
Aroma is roasty... rich coffee with creamer, light espresso, cocoa, dark chocolate.
Taste follows the nose. Its got a creamy, low carb body with slightly more heft than its Guinness counterpart. Dry finish with a pleasant coffee like bitterness...
Slightly more robust than the usual suspects in the style. Very nice beer.

Poured from a nitro can into a pint glass
Appearance – Bing a nitro pour, the beer pours a dark brown colored brew with some light brown looking nitro bubbles cascading up through the brew. The nitro level is lighter than anticipating for a nitro can, with just a more mild cascade. After the cascade settles, a tan colored foam is produced on the surface of the brew. The foam has a decent retention, fading slowly and leaving a good deal of spiderweb lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is heaviest of a dark roasty and toasty smell mixed with other aromas of coffee and some sweeter smells of chocolate and caramel. Along with these comes notes of vanilla and toffee along with a light level of earth and char.
Taste – the taste begins with a nice roasty and toasty flavor mixed with some char and smoke. At the same time there is a very light sweetness of vanilla crème and some molasses. As the taste advances, the sweetness fades a touch all while the roast gets even more intense. Also, as the taste advances, more and more coffee comes to the tongue, adding more and more bitterness. Toward the end of the taste transition, some earth and dirt come to the tongue, leaving one with a nice roasty and toasty taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – While light, the nitro pour creates a nice creamy body with a smooth silky feel.
Overall – A bit of a drier and more coffee bitter dry Irish. I wish it had a little more nitro character, but other then that, it was a nice dry drinker.
