Presentation: 750ml brown bottle. Standard BBC label with the two brewers characterized on the label. Freshness date clearly marked.
Appearance: Amber/dark orange with a somewhat creamy looking thin lace.
Smell: Toasty with fruit esters, some graininess and a touch of hop aroma. Whiffs of alcohol become more apparent as this warms.
Taste: Notes of sweet cooked corn (DMS) flavour and a slight buttery coating on the tongue (diacetyl), not off though. Smooth with a chewy malty mouth-feel and a quick, sharp hop flavour. An alcohol presence cloaks itself amongst the hops, coming out in the aftertaste with fume like effect. A dry wheat flavour is consistent throughout.
Notes: The high presence of fusel alcohols is a bit out of style, but, this is a noteworthy brew and well worth the try at $2.99 for a 750ml bottle.
