Really dry stout base, like an Irish stout.

Had on tap at Alibi room.

Look was nice. Very dark with a nice light brown head.

Aroma was dark chocolate with dark malts dominating.

Taste was nice. Easy to drink.

Mouthfeel was medium bodied with quite a dry end.

Overall, definitly worth a try. I found it enjoyable.

Inky black with a large mocha coloured head. Sweet and roasty nose, notes of dark roast coffee and root beer. More sweet, roasty, and dark coffee notes flavour-wise, with a lingering bitter-sweet chocolaty finish, but most of all strong flavours of malt throughout. Needs more bitterness, and definitely more roasted character (it's there for sure, but not nearly strong enough for the style). Fairly heavy body, but not quite heavy enough.
Overall: a solid stout, albeit too sweet. I'd like a little more oomph.

On draft at the brewery, Vancouver.

Oily jet with tan film.
Coffee cola nose.
Camp coffee, birch beer, roasty hit, some oily espresso, hop bitterness missing where it should be.
Branchy finish and tingly linger.
Med-heavy, sticky, lots of chew.

Way too sweet. For this much sugar, why not go all the way to 7.5%? Syrupy with no balance from heat, roast or hops.

Brassneck is just not impressing so far.
