We’ve always wanted to have good quality lagers available at Brassneck. However, due to production restraints and the amount of fermentation time a really great Pilsner deserves, our capabilities to produce this kind of beer have been severely limited. (mostly ’cause you buggers drink the beer so bloody fast!)
This is only the second time we’ve brewed the King Maker, the first time being over a year ago. It’s a special one for us, we hope you like it.
German Pilsner Malts and a healthy dose of Tettnanger hops give this pilsner a distinctly European edge.

Single 16 ounce can, packaged December 21, 2025, so just over 2 months old.
Pours a clear deep golden colour (a hint of chill haze) with a teeming three fingers of tight puffy white head with very nice lacing.
Nose of doughy, grainy malt; white bread with floral/honeysuckle and herbal notes and a hint of corn.
Taste of sweet bready, doughy malt, again that hint of sweet corn, floral and spicy hops with a very pleasant firm bitterness.
Moderately full body with decent carbonation and a lingering bittersweetness. Maybe biased by the Brassneck offerings I have enjoyed of late, but this is great.
Listed as a Euro-Style Pilsner - could be convinced this is a Dortmunder Lager - either way I am for it!

look: pale gold with moderate head, very little lacing.
smell: not very strong: pils malt and an underlying sweetness.
taste: light hops, malty, a bit sweet
feel: crisp, nice carbonation, thickens up quickly
overall: Clean, crisp, and light--very solid Euro-pilsner, though a bit on the sweet end.

5 oz globe snifter sample poured at the brewery taproom (visited 29-May-17). Clear pale gold with a decent head of white foam. Lightly sweet Pilsener malt aroma and taste with floral hops. Clean and light with a moderate bitter finish.
