If anyone was wondering, this beer was listed at 7.8% abv at the Bistro's barrel aged festival in 2018.

I'm not sure if this is the regular golden sour base they use, because of its classification as a berliner weisse, I would think it would be slightly different (wheat) than their normal base (100% barley, or at least that is what I think it would be). Anyways, a hazy golden yellow appearance turns slightly orange with the red/pink fruit additions, 1/4" white head. The aroma was a feint amount of raspberry, the strawberry as more prominent in like a 80/20 split intensity wise.

They nailed the strawberry character just as good as anyone, immediately brought up thoughts of Ichigo Highway with a couple of years (whereby all 'plastic' aspects of the beer have vanished, quite the exception to the fruit beer rule about them degrading with age, which is still a good general rule). The mouth feel is nice and light, I'm frankly skeptical that the abv was as high as 7.8 in this, just was so much lighter. I generally hate amped up berliners, but jeez, this was soft, light, respectably (not over) sour and hid the alcohol amazingly well. Very fun beer, would even buy a bottle if it was around $20.

Growler poured into Ambassador stemware.

A: Pours a slightly opaque orange with a soft finger of a white head. A fuzzy collar lasted the whole beer through and wispy lace was left down the glass.
S: Jammy and sweet scents of strawberry hit first and are very noticeable. Not cloyingly sweet but instead smell of a fresh fruit stand. Raspberries and more subtle but add a tart red berry quality. There's some bright tart acid and a mild minerally quality to the nose as well.
T: Bright and tart flavors of lemony acid mixed with juicy flavors of sweet strawberry and jammy and lightly tart flavors of raspberry. The finish has some juicy fruit sweetness but overall this is very gritty and dry. Mild mineral quality in the finish.
M: Very fuzzy, tingly carbonation is fizzy and froths up on my palate with each sip. Light body, crisp, tingly and bright mouthfeel, extremely dry with some lingering clinging tannins.
O: Good strawberry flavor with a kick of red raspberry. Bright and refreshing.

Had this at their brewery. Darker, Amber color with no head. Not a whole lot of smell, but definite hints of fruit. Taste was aggressive - assaulting sourness with finishing hints of berries and jam. Mouthfeel was incredible - heavily astringent with so much pucker it made it rich. Definitely sipped rather thank straight up drank. Overall, a wonderful experience - awesome venue and a really unique beer. Cheers!
