5oz snifter at TRB.
A: Pours a clear iced tea color with a thin bubbly white film that disappeared into nothingness.
S: Light nose with hints of bright lactic, red fruits, and mild caramely bourbon. I get just a touch of vanilla as well.
T: Red base mixes well with sweet notes of bourbon. Barrel is mildly spicy along with hints of vanilla. Base beer has a red berry quality to it. Bright lactic tart up front, and the finish has hints of caramel, buttery barrel, greasy oak, with a hint of butterscotch. Great lingering aftertaste of creamy buttery barrel. Slight sweet red apple quality with a mild apple sweetness.
M: Medium body, greasy and slick mouthfeel, with bright acidity and tingly carbonation. Very slightly rough around the edges with a touch of harshness in the finish, but this is very mild and doesn't take away from the flavor. Slightly sharp.
O: This was delicious. Slightly rough around the edges but great mellow bourbon flavor that compliments the base beer well. I hope they explore spirit bottles further.
