Growler poured into snifter.
A: Pours a deep violet color with a thin light tan head that slowly faded into a fuzzy collar leaving wispy, soapy, lace down the glass.
S: Interesting nose of both lightly tart blackberry mixed with porter scents of roast and a kiss of chocolate. I get a hint of caramel and black cherry as well.
T: Follows the nose with flavors of roast and mild chocolate mixed with bright notes of lactic acid and a kiss of juicy blackberry. I get a hint of caramel and vanilla as the beer warms. Jammy finish and a lightly tannic fruity aftertaste.
M: Medium body, bright acidity, with fizzy and vibrant carbonation and a tart, crisp, drying mouthfeel. Tartness has a fruit-like quality similar to citric acid or tart berries.
O: A unique combination of flavors. I hope TRB continues to experiment with contrasting and interesting flavor combinations such as this.
