Troptimus Pine is a tart IPA with guava and passion fruit dry-hopped with this year’s ALS proprietary hop blend created by Loftus Ranches and Hopunion. Juicy and dank, this tart IPA explodes with aromas of funky passion fruit with flavors of guava, peach, and apricot.

Growler into tulip.
A: Pours a cloudy powdery lemon color with a finger of soft white head that faded into a thick collar and spotty, soapy, lace.
S: Huge tropical nose with obvious, and dominating, notes of passion fruit and guava. There’s a subtle tartness and a soft yeast presence.
T: Follows the nose with juicy and sweet passion fruit/guava flavors mixed with doughy, earthy, brett/yeast flavors, and a mild but clean tartness. Lime, tangerine, plantain, grapefruit, stone fruit, and pineapple poke through as well. Tropical, juicy, and flavorful overall, with kiss of earthy, peppery spice, and a musty barrel quality and tartness.
M: Medium body, fluffy and soft carbonation, chewy mouthfeel with a kiss of tartness and a lightly drying finish. Sweet and soft overall mouthfeel overall.
O: Definitely a tart ipa, with emphasis on the ipa (more so than their other hoppy sours IMO). Juicy, fruity, and sweet overall, but there’s still enough tartness and drying barrel to round it out. A delicious beer.
