Reddish, cloudy nice head with some bands of lacing. Funky, sour tart aroma with nice sweetness that has some vermouth, maple, oak and vanilla. The taste is great with a lot of sourness that is offset by the sweetness of the vermouth and maple. This is a really fantastic beer.

On tap at THG.
A: Pours a deep woody mahogany color, lighter than red wine but browner than ruby. A thin light brown collar persisted the whole beer through.
S: Tart red ale notes of red berries, caramel, and a kiss of vanilla. Hints of cherry.
T: Vanilla and dark cherry up front with sweet maple and caramel in the finish. Citrus is toned down but subtle orange notes in the finish mix with the dark cherry and what I imagine is the sweet vermouth barrel flavors in the finish. Vanilla and bourbon notes linger in the aftertaste.
M: Smooth and mellow mouthfeel with a kiss of acid and splashy carbonation. Creamy and slick feel, fuller and greasier than others. Slick buttery oak.
O: All the nuances really work well together as a delicious beer, and they do also definitely remind me of the whiskey cocktails. I could drink tons of this. I found that as I sipped, I wanted it have a stronger bourbon presence to make it more like the real thing, but it’s a beer and not a cocktail.
