Poured from a TRB growler into stemmed tulip.
A: Pours like cola with a couple fingers of fizzy light brown foam that quickly faded into a faint collar.
T: Brown ale-like flavors along with chai spices and cola. Cardamom and ginger are noticeable along with hints of cinnamon, red grape skins, all-spice and even a touch of dried citrus rind. Brown ale/cola flavors of caramel, slight raisin and a kiss of vanilla. Finish is slight tannic and gritty, aftertaste is full of lingering spice and a subtle sweetness. Cardamom lingers long after the swallow.
M: Medium body, fluffy carb, mild tartness, soft acidity, slight greasy slickness.
O: Believable chai-like flavors. A more robust thicker base would make it even more believable. Tartness works well with the spices. A chocolate addition might be a nice variant.
