First review of this beer on BA.
Pours a red color with some brown to it. Looks like this is their red sour base. Its a pretty color, although I kinda wished for more head formation and retention. The aroma hits the lemon and spice rack notes. Chamomile is a lot like lavender here. Has that floral, fruit and herb vibe throughout the nose.
Taste is good, you still have the requisite high degree of sourness and acidity that is there in about 98% of Rare Barrel beers. I ain't no pussy though. Its not like the sourness/acidity combo prevents one from enjoying this or getting plenty of chamomile/spice rack fruit notes. Even though its a red ale base, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of earthiness or other red ale attributes going for it. I think the lemon takes away from that, they're pretty opposite, and the lemon/sour wins in that regard. Carbonation was fine. This was on tap. I dug it.
