350 mL bottle into a Rare Barrel teku glass
Cloudy, effervescent, yellow-tan brew…bubbly head never fully dissipates. Distinct wafts of citrus peel and oak anchoring the bouquet, with lemony tartness at the edges. Clean and crisp on the palate…tart, but just so. Closer to a berlinweisse than a wild ale. Orange peels, lemon pepper, some floral aspects to the back of the sip. Really quaffable, delicious sour brew.
The recent batch of ales from Rare Barrel is hands-down their finest. Too bad they had to sell off to Cellarmaker (due to financial hardship from Covid shutdown, not quality), but hopefully the artisans at Cellarmaker will carry the torch.
