Pours a hazy rusty amber. The faint khaki head quickly disappears completely and leaves no lace.
The smell is of spiced apple, cinnamon and pumpkin. No chocolate on the nose. Very inviting.
The taste is of grainy malt, pumpkin pie, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and a just a hint of chocolate.
The texture is full bodied and creamy with low carbonation.
This is now one of my favorite Fall seasonal brews. Pleasant Autumn spice aroma with strong pumpkin and spice flavors and a creamy texture that all other Autumn/pumpkin beer brewers should take note of.

Bottle pour at Woodshop 8 held at The Hermosillo in Los Angeles, CA.

Pours a murky orange-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of malt, pumpkin pie spice, and slight cocoa aromas. Taste is much the same with pumpkin pie spice and soapy flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an average beer that is fairly drinkable but there is an odd soapy quality in the taste that isn't too appealing.

22 oz. bottle poured into stemless wine glass on 18-Oct-13 (Hit local bottleshops same day).
Looks straight up like apple cider. Murky tan-ish brown. Couple centimeters of head layer that quickly dissipates.
Aromas of pumpkin and spices; cinnamon and nutmeg.
Taste follows suit with pumpkin and spices up front, but then follows a slightly tart apple pie. Don't detect much of the chocolate, but I get milky chocolate in the body and texture.
Overall this is a wonderful blend of pumpkin and apple pie, both in flavors and mouthfeel. I was expecting chocolate cause of its name so not sure how I feel about the absence of it, but the pumpkin is fantastic and much prefer this over Pumking (which I have mixed feelings about.. had good and terrible bottles).
I rank this 2nd in my personal favorite pumpkin ales (under Almanac's).
BR, great job. Now lets get some of this aged in bourbon/brandy barrels!
