Subtle citrus sweetness with mild pine bitterness and a malt presence to balance it out. I'm pleasantly surprised.

A - 2 inch deep head, off white. deep, and I mean deep caramel body, orangish hues.
S - Malt, malt, malt, mild hop notes, nothing that brings the ipas alive. Just straight up malt.
T - Malt, very one dimensional in terms of hops. Just malt.
O - they have a long way to go. This is straight up boozy and one dimensional in terms of hops. It's a malt bomb.

Smells like damp wood? Not repellant, but nothing like beer. Virtually no foam on a vigorous pour. A few large bubbles remain in a clump like frog eggs. Flat in the mouth, which only accentuates the dishwatery flavors.
A faint malty taste with some caramel along with a faint tanginess, like a splash of orange juice. Unpleasant bitter taste and aftertaste. Astringent bitterness. This is not worth flavoring the cheapest lager with. The kitchen sink drinks tonight.
I have to call this the second worst IPA I've had this year. You might drink it if you had made it yourself, but you wouldn't let anyone else know about it. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Best Damn Beer Shop in San Diego.
