This looked and smelled great in my glass..all downhill from there. It was like a bitter, citrus peanut butter jambalaya w/ a slight bitter chocolate undertone. I think the unexpectedness is what threw me off. Maybe call it "John Paul Jones Chocolate Peanut Butter Sour Stout" as I would have been more ready for this.

Not expecting the vinegar taste. The peanut butter is prevalent . This is not the chocolate version. Not a lot of head or lacing. It has good mouth feel. I've had other peanut butter stouts that were more true to the style. Decent effort.

Ugh, the frustrating thing about this beer is that it looked great, the peanut butter aroma was incredible, mixed nicely with some milk chocolate then it was sour. Very high on the sour scale too, green apple, lemon acidty, very sharp and face twisting. Bad batches are in circulation, buyer beware.

Agree with the folks who mention the sour/acidity in the taste. I would have rather a lush, chocolate flavor with a creamier feel, but the aroma and look are quite impressive. Not terrible, just a surprise taste from the crazy amounts of peanut butter in there.
