Brew Rebellion's John Paul Jones Chocolate Banana Stout. 10.9% ABV.

A: Two fingers of tan head. Black in the glass. Dark brown, with a reddish edge in the dimple. Decent, speckled sheeting. Light lacing, which slides right off.

S: Solid aroma of banana right upon opening the bottle! Like banana chips. Even stronger once poured into the glass. Dark cocoa cereal. Slight hazelnut.

T/MF: Hmm. Body is a bit thin. Good amount of banana chips. Odd mix of coffee, char, and cocoa. Disappointing. Their newer stouts just aren't standing up to the first two in the John Paul Jones line...

On a more relaxed sip, it does have a distinct chocolate covered banana thing going for it.

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle, into a Belgian tulip glass.

Yellow and black waxed cap.

It pours black with an inch of tan foam.

The nose is full of bananas and chocolate. The fruit brings the sweet notes; the chocolate can't compete but does have a little roasted and slightly bitter aroma.

The chocolate is more assertive in the taste though the banana is right there. Not overly sweet, this is bringing the flavours I enjoy.

Close to full bodied with adequate carbonation.

Excellent!
