we had a great time visiting their location next to the canal in the railway arch, nice little patio on two sides of the place, but i guess they actually brew the beers north of here. this is a solid pils, clean and crisp, nicely carbonated and very dry, somewhat minimal, but it stands in stark contrast to many of the heavier, slower, more malt forward ales we were drinking on this day, a nice change of pace, and a very well done lager overall. nice clarity to this, straw yellow color here and an inch of enduring white head, consistent carbonation running to the surface. the nose and taste are identical, dry european pils malt, classic old world lager yeast but kept sort of minimal in this, and a modest but not irrelevant back end hopping that brings a little grassy freshness to the finish and just enough bitterness to aid in the crisp. i get some simple cereal character at the core, a patient and very complete fermentation, and good balance all the way through. its lighter medium bodied, very alive on the palate, and clean on the swallow. not going to set the world on fire, but a professionally done lager here, quite true to style. i enjoyed the beers we had at this cool hangout, props for the awesome glassware too!
