Semi-hazy body; peach and tangerine in color; thick, sticky, sculpted head, white and lasting. Bold note of fresh tangerine; a bit of toasted malt on the nose; modicum of alcohol presence. Light citrus flavor; diluted orange juice; moderate hop bitterness; subtle light malt base. Medium body; pleasing acidity and sharp tanginess; mildly juicy yet finishes fairly dry.

This beer is a bit of a stunner. By that, I mean the relative freshness of the tangerine in the smell and taste is so out of character for many other hazy/semi-hazy IPAs that all I can do is sip and enjoy with a pleasant grin on my face. This beer is a winner across the board.

**Note: This is for the 2020 version that has a slightly changed hop bill and an addition of tangerine - not sure if I should add it as a new beer**

Look: Opaque burnt orange with a frothy off-white head that pillows up, slowly receding and leaving great lacing on the glass
Aroma: Grapefruit, tangerine, rose, mixed berries – black, blue, straw, and rasp, and sweet bready malt notes
Taste: Tangerine-led citrus fruits and berries come out swinging with rose flowers also sneaking in once the initial berry/citrus hit settles some. Awesome bready malt is present but is playing second fiddle here and even a little dank comes into the fold
Mouthfeel: Full, medium-high carbonation, a good hop bite is present on the finish, and lightly dry as well
Overall: This is quite delicious. I’ll be honest and say I was a little disappointed when I heard these folks were tweaking this recipe, as it’s one of my favorite overall beers from them but I had faith that they’d do it right and they did. An awesome citrus and berry driven IPA in which the tangerine addition works great with and a good malt balance keeps the mouthfeel on point

12oz can poured into 14oz teku. poured a murky amber-orange color with over an inch of slightly off-white head that had good retention and OK lacing.

Generic frooty hops on the nose, with no discernible grain or malt.

Same on the tongue, with just enough bitterness to add some interest.

The body was the typical medium-thin of the style, and had a semi-dry finish.

Drinkability was good, but, with such an uninteresting beer, why would you want it again?

Overall, a perfectly average example of the style. Try it for yourself. or don't. Wutever.

Six pack of cans picked up at Total Wine in Lynnwood, Washington.
Canned on Nov 05 2019. Poured in to a mason jar.

Look- Clear golden honey color. Solid off-white colored head that slowly recedes to a thin cap, nice lacing. active carbonation streams visible.

Smell- Pithy orange, tangerine, grapefruit and lemon, a bit of stone fruit and pine, caramel malt, spicy/herbal and earthy notes.

Taste- Similar to the aroma but the malt and hop spice is much more pronounced. Pretty tasty actually.

Feel- Medium bodied with a semi-dry, slightly astringent finish, moderate carbonation on the tongue.

O- A pretty nice winter IPA overall. Not over priced either. Worth trying.

Hazy orange color with off-white head. Aroma is spicy, yeasty with outage rind notes and coriander. Taste follows with spicy notes, earthy with orange rind bitterness lingering on the finish. Medium body and carbonation. Not bad but it's too spicy for an IPA.

i guess adding enough malt to make this taste like it would have been popular in the 90s now constitutes a winter beer? not sure what else here makes this wintery, its not spiced or anything, its not particularly strong or thick, and it kind of just tastes like a recipe from the past, as much as its fresh and i enjoyed the glass. its got a little copper color to it, a pinch of some european crystal malt or something, vienna or munich depth, not sweet just hearty and sort of old school. the hops are high alpha c types, northwestern and piney with a little grapefruit bitterness, fresh and delicious, but somewhat generic and dated too, as much as i dont want to be critical of keeping balanced ipa alive. i think the winter designation is a bit misleading, there really isnt anything festive or holiday about this beer at all, its just a classic ipa. that said, i like the beer, could drink plenty of it, and am always turned on by new stuff from ecliptic, even though i expected this one to take me down a different road. cool that their stuff keeps showing up on tap in denver too! this drinks like a blast from the past...

Good looking pour. Slightly hazy, low carbonation, light head, skim lacing. Light floral, citrus aroma. A solid NWIPA. Good as any, better than some. Upfront, fairly aggressive hop flavors, lingering bitterness. A wee bit on the flat side, could use a little more carbonation.

Quite possibly the perfect Northwest American IPA. I can't come up with a negative. It's not citrus-y, (thank God, enough of the Citra and Mosaic already). It's clean, not heavy, not too bitter, not too sweet, no off-putting, lingering after taste, easy to drink, just the right gravity. I am enjoying my first from a 12 oz. can (poured into a pint glass) and I just love it. Hope to find it on tap somewhere. Right down my alley. Excellent recipe! Highly recommended!
